Making Virtualization Perform in Telecom Services and BSS
Leveraging virtualization to take advantage of shared base computing tasks has promised to deliver substantial cost savings and operational advantages in the computing field. Done right, virtualization has generated key cost savings and improved operational effectiveness for IT systems around the world. Done wrong, virtualization has led to resource clashing, severe performance and up-time/availability degradation and vendor hold-up.
This paper will suggest strategic considerations for Communication Service Providers implementing a virtualization strategy for online BSS and network services. It will define a set of technical implications stemming from these considerations, and suggest an approach that allows CSPs to deliver BSS in any virtualized environment at scale.
