Redknee Solutions (TSX: RKN) CEO Lucas Skoczkowski RCR Wireless News with an overview of how Redknee enables industrial IoT solutions as well as an update on the progress the company has made over the past year, inside and outside of the telecom sector.

Redknee said it added 45 customers through both organic growth and acquisitions, including the acquisition of Orga Systems, which provided Redknee with a product catalog and platform to expand outside of telecom into smart city, connected car and energy-as-a-service opportunities. For example, Redknee, with BMW as a lead customer, is evaluating connected car billing, charging and analytics opportunities. In addition, the company said it has a number of smart city and smart energy proof of concepts underway.

“Redknee is a technology enablement platform processing 3 to 4 billion transactions every hour” Skoczkowski said.  In November 2015, for example, Redknee announced enabling Dutch National railway infrastructure operator ProRail to increase reliability in network communications.

At the recent Mobile World Congress event, Redknee announced a new version release that includes “multi-play” video capability designed to enables charging on a packet or pay-per-view basis. The new release, Redknee Unified 2016, is geared toward helping communication service providers go through a digital transformation to access new markets with new services.

Ovum research analyst Chantel Cary said digital transformation “is an opportunity for telcos to evolve their service and product offerings, to meet customer demands and create an optimum customer experience. They must also achieve this while operating at internet-speed and thus real-time monetization platforms are critical to the success of any digital transformation strategy or agenda.”

Redknee Unified 2016 is a catalog-driven revenue management solution designed to support an omnichannel customer experience through an integrated product catalogue and order management.
